GĀWARGīN,
LOCATION:
Bāmiyān Province. In the lower end of the
Sarikol gutley, c. 12 km above Shahr-i Barbar.
DESCRIPTION:
Remains of an ancient mud-brick
fort, built in a very inaccessible position with a ravine
on two sides. It has several towers. Inside is a rock-cut
staircase descending below ground level. Just below the fort
is a mound resembling a stupa."
