PUL-I-MALAN, extant in 1506
LOCATION: Herat.
DESCRIPTION: A stone and brick bridge
of 27 spans across the river. Although much of it is 20th century
building, the core of the structure is certainly earlier.
PHYSICAL CONDITION: war damaged; controversial restoration in 1994-1996
